Head of Department
Supervising the medical and administrative activities of the Orthopedic Department. Coordinate with other departments to improve the standard of service. Participate and implement the hospital policies and procedures. Any other assignment given by the Chief Medical Officer or the Management.
Organizing the annual leave for the staff of the department. Signing the duty schedule, time sheet, over time, etc. Responsible for the over all supervision of the department. Oriented about all the patients and discuss and advise other colleagues about problem cases. Report to management about working incidents which might affect the quality of the work. Advising and supervising the Resident work to achieve a satisfactory level of documentation and management. Management of the patients under his care. Doing his duries including Out-patients, operations, on-call duties per schedule. Responding to consultations from other departments. Actively takes part of the Continuous Education and participates in Performance Improvement Program through committee participation or other concrete activity. Suggest plans to expand the work and improve the standard of service. Cooperate with other departments to improve the working facilities. Annual evaluation of the department staff. Annual evaluation of the quantity and quality of the work. Assessing the results. Submitting the report to the Chief Medical Officer. Should have the type of personality to run the department in a satisfactory way. Should keep up with the modern advances of technology to expand the varieties of work materials. Actively participating in the Orthopedic club in the area.
Should be a member of the Royal College of Surgeons for Orthopedic Surgery (FRCS) in UK/Europe or equivalent qualification from a Western Country. In possession of valid medical license to practice.
Minimum five years experience in a similar position.
