Supervising the medical and also the administrative activities of the Neuropsychiatry unit. Coordinate with other department to facilitate a high quality of patient care. Participate and implement the hospital policies and procedure. Any other assignment given by the Supervisor or the Management.
Reviewing the department problems and policy with the Administration of the Hospital.
Preventing – as much as possible – the medical and administrative difficulties of the department.
Covering the outpatient service for both neurology and psychiatry patients during the normal hospital hours.
On-call for emergency psychiatry and neurology patients. Management of psychiatry and neurology inpatients. Examination and management of cases for consultation from other specialties.
Reading E.E.G. records for in and out patients from neuropsychiatric department and from other departments. E.C.T. for psychiatric cases done in O.R.
Reviewing the signing controlled prescriptions for patients from other departments. Writing all Arabic reports for neuropsychiatric patients.
Reviewing and signing all medical reports for neuropsyciatric in and out patients. Making psychotherapy and also relaxation therapy for certain selected psychiatric patients.
Proposing plans for improving the quality of service in the neuropsychiatric department. Monitoring and evaluating the level of service in the outpatient clinic and the wards.
Monitoring the general census of the new and follow-up patients in the outpatient clinic.
Attending the monthly meeting of the psychiatric club including the lectures. Following the new advances in the management and researches in neuropsychiatry.
Attends Continuing Education, Infection Control and Performance Improvement programs to keep updated with the current practices.
MD Psychiatry or membership of the Royal College of Psychiatry in UK/Europe or equivalent from a Western Country.
Diploma or MD Neurology
Current license to practice
Minimum five years Consultant Neuropsychiatry experience in a reputed hospital.
