Provide clinical services are required. Serve as member of the Anesthesia Department. Any other assignment given by the Management or direct Supervisor.

Plan, direct and supervise the activities for the Anesthesia Department in the absence of the Head of the department. Assume responsibility for implementation of Mouwasat Hospital Policies within the department. Provide clinical services as required. Serves as member of the Anesthesia department in O.R.; ICU and everywhere in the Hospital. Responding to the consultations from other department regarding the evaluation in the hospital. Organize consultation in the management of the problems of acute and chronic respiratory insufficiency as well as in variety of the Diagnostic Unit and Therapeutic measured related to the unit. There will be one Consultant and on Specialist Anesthesiologist responsible for providing the required anesthetic service in any area in the hospital according to the monthly schedule and the duty route. The Anesthetic Record and Recovery Room discharge Data Report should be signed by both the Consultant and Specialist in-charge before discharging the patient from the Recovery Room. If the Consultant on-call instructs the Specialist to provide the required anesthetic service on his own, the name of both the Consultant and Specialist should be written in the anesthesia record. The on-call consultant Anesthesiologist will respond to consultation from the Internal in-charge to provide the necessary respiratory support and the establishment of the central venous or the arterial lines in the ICU as indicated. The Consultant Anesthesiologist who started the respiratory management will be in-charge of the patient until the patient weaned off the respirator or otherwise. The Specialist Anesthesiologist will respond to the emergency calls from the ICU incase of the acute respiratory insufficiency and will provide the urgent endotracheal intubations, the respiratory support and should inform the on-call Consultant Anesthesiologist to take over the management of the case. Attends Continuing Education, Infection Control and Performance Improvement programs to keep updated with the current practices.


Be a fellow of the Royal College, or equivalent from a Western country or MD certified. Current License. Minimum 3-5 years of professional post-board experience in a well-known hospital.
