Anaesthesia Technician

  • Routine insertion of all intravenous infusions in the operating room, liaison with the anaesthetist.
  • Initial application of all non-invasive anaesthesia related patient monitoring.
  • Routine daily, weekly and monthly maintenance and cleaning of all anaesthesia related equipment.
  • Routine daily, weekly and monthly care and cleaning of all anaesthesia related storage and work areas, to include Operating Suite, Labor and Delivery, Burn Unit, Lithotripsy MR!, Angio, Endoscopy, Cardiac and Liver Transplantation and any other designated anaesthesia areas.
  • Specific case by case preparation for all anaesthetic procedures, to include all general anaesthetic, all regional anaesthetic standby procedures and any related anaesthetic invasive procedures.
  • Appropriate daily restocking of anaesthesia consumables in all designated areas.
  • To be available at all times for emergency anaesthetic procedures during assigned shifts.
  • Assistance in transportation of patients to and from all anaesthesia related areas, to include operating rooms, recovery area, all intensive care units and any other appropriate areas.
  • Drawing of any anaesthesia related venous or arterial blood samples upon request of an anaestheiologist.
  • Assistance to be given in positioning of all patients for all anaesthetic and surgical procedures.
  • Whenever possible and appropriate to assist other operating room personnel with patient care tasks.
  • Under supervision, daily and weekly distribution of all anaesthesia consumables and pharmaceutical items.
  • Ordering blood and blood products and under direct supervision of an anaesthesiologist; appropriate checking and administration of blood and blood products.
  • Under direct supervision of anaesthesiologist airway maintenance and straightforward endotracheal intubation.
  • Under direct supervision of anaesthesiologist insertion of straightforward arterial catherization.
  • To uphold and have knowledge of all Anaesthesia Department rules, regulations and protocol where appropriate.
  • Distribution and storage of all Anaesthesia Department consumables and drugs
  • Prepare and administer intravenous drugs as per Anaesthetist instruction and supervision
  • Teaching and training of students and fresh graduates
  • Cover calls for cardiaclliver, night shift, emergency shift weekends and Business Center as per monthly call schedule
  • Complete 10 hours continuous Medical Education(CME) per year.
  • Perform any other Anaesthesia Department related duties as directed by the Chief Anaesthesia or Chairman of Anaesthesia.


Education requirement:
Bachelor or Associate degree in Anaesthesia
Valid Basic Life Support
Valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support
Experience requirement:
Minimum of three years experiences in Anaesthesia in recognized institute (hospital)
English Language Skills
